Challenge:
To redevelop a 1960's era former Ampex manufacturing, assembly,
and research campus into a Class Atechnology center.
Vision:
To renovate outmoded buildings, installing new site improvements
and obtaining entitlements to construct 500,000 additional
square feet of new offices in a state-of-the art technology
campus. We viewed the site's perceived weakness — its
location between San Francisco and Silicon Valley —
as an asset with potential.
Results:
One million square feet of cutting-edge technology offices
developed and leased within 24 months of acquiring the site.
Obsolete buildings were demolished, retrofitted and installed
with modern systems while obtaining entitlements to develop
500,000 square feet of new office space. The project has won
several awards.
